Boldin’s Choice
Sunday, April 26th, 2009
Stories grew hotter that Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin would leave Cardinals. But Larry Fitzgerald believed that his teamate would stay.
“I don’t think he really wants to go,” Fitzgerald said. “He’s been out there six years. His family is comfortable; his son is in school. There’s a lot of things that I think will be conducive for him to stay. But this is a business. You never know what’s going to happen.”
Boldin no longer required to trade to other teams last week. Currently he was waiting for contract extention.Maybe the draft of this weekend would determine Boldin’s destiny, that is to say, Cardinals would entrust jobs to Boldin again if new receivers were not introduced.
QB Kurt Warner led Cardinals to win district champion and enter Super Bowl, becoming a bit of a dark horse last season. However, Boldin and Fitzgerald also made great contributions to strengthen receiving. So Arizona wasnot willing to give up such excellent wide receiver.
“He was a big part of what we were able to do last year,” said Fitzgerald, who was participating in an event promoting the “Madden NFL” video game in New York. “He’s helped me out tremendously. I hope he’s with us for the rest of his career.” Same with Boldin, Fitzgerald weren’t satisfied with his contract, and he wanted to resign more larger contract.
